I would have to agree with the latest review. My wife and I loved going there on a regular basis because it was close to where we lived. Each time we go we always sit in the bar and each time the service gets worse and worse. I don't know if there is not enough people in the bar working but the last time was a joke. The bartender outside smoking and chatting with other people while we and others in the bar wait and wait........and wait.......and wait.  The food is great but a little overpriced now. 12 dollars for a tri-tip sandwich. No thanks! It looks like they raised there prices recently. Overpriced food and bad service means I will go elsewhere until that changes.

While the food is pretty good, the prices are high.  And for prices that high, one would expect decent service.  But alas, the service is really horrible.  Between the four of us, we ordered chicken strips, a cold ham sandwich, and a side order of bleu cheese fries.  Doesn't sound too complicated, right?  It took about 25 minutes to receive our food, and it wasn't very busy.  (There were waitresses cleaning windows to stay busy, if that provides some evidence.)

After we got our food and ate it, we were ready to pay our bill.  We sat in the bar area, and we were looking for the bartender who was nowhere to be found.  We looked around only to discover that he was out on the patio smoking.  He came back in and asked if we were ready to pay, and we said yes.  He came back with the check, and it took him a while to run our tab (he was busy talking to a couple of women at the bar, you see).

I wouldn't recommend going to this place.  The service is consistently bad, and based on the number of times I've gone to visit, it has only gotten worse.

My husband and I have eaten here numerous times. The food is good but nothing to write home about.  On our most recent visit, we ordered onion rings. They arrived cold and soggy. We both tried to eat them as to not make a stink about it to our server, but I decided we should ask for new ones, seeing as we are paying 6 or 7 bucks for them.  We returned the plate to our server with all the rings we didn't eat, one that was half eaten and a french fry that had snuck it's way into that batch. Our "new" onion rings came back.. and lo and behold.. that half eaten onion ring, and french fry were still on there, only now they were on the bottom of the pile.  So now we had HOT and soggy onion rings - we were not happy, made us lose some respect for the restaurant.

The food USE to be great when it was in the old location. When the Prime Cut moved to its new location it lost the quality of food and tried making up for it with good customer service.  They even lost the little touches that made the restaurant great in the first place such as having multiple hot sauces or toasting the buns for the merv burgers.  The Prime Cut use to be one of the best restaurants in Bakersfield, but now no better than burger king.  P.C should go back to basics before they lose their base customers.  They are simply a "flavor of the month" and if they niglect the small things that made them great---they will be gone in no time.
