Finally ate here on New Year's Eve, it was quite nice and not at all super busy.  I had the manicotti and it was really delish.  I came with a large group and we all got our orders in a timely manner and everything was hot.  I liked the atmosphere and the accordian player, too.  The only thing that bothered me was where the bathroom was, it was sort of odd, outside in the back in the employee parking lot.  It was chilly that night, so it was sort of an inconvenience and scary for a girl like me to have to walk outside to wash my hands :(  Other than that oddity, it was a good experience, would recommend to everyone looking for a nice evening out and good service.

Yesterday I celebrated my 40th birthday, and...

Yesterday I celebrated my 40th birthday, and all day long I found myself resisting a powerful urge to yell at kids to get off my grass. My girlfriend Tanya and my best friend James planned a dinner for the occasion at Uricchio's Trattoria, but wouldn’t tell me ‘cause it was a surprise. All I was told preceding the visit was that I wasn’t allowed to dress like a bike messenger. I had to wear a grown-up shirt with buttons, and shoes that I could polish. And I was supposta be on my best behavior. “Aw shucks {swipes the ground with foot} well . . . alright.”

The atmosphere just walking to the restaurant was fantastic; people were sitting outside drinking wine and enjoying a warm October evening and good conversation. We walked in and I asked if we could sit outside, of course that was crazy talk, so we were seated inside by a nice gentleman who seemed to be the owner who thanked us for our patronage (which was a very nice touch). We ordered a bottle of wine, I ordered the lobster ravioli, I opened my presents, they didn’t sing, and we all had a nice evening.

Bottom line: atmosphere, service, food = 5 stars, but remember to have your pinky out!

The only odd thing that happened during our visit was the plight of this poor man a few tables away. He would yell as loudly as he could across the restaurant for the waitress to “get me another drink!” I knew right away what the problem was: his ribs were too tight. I’d seen this kind of thing before, I figured the waitress was in the back looking around for a mop handle or the like so she could begin loosening his ribs for him, but after a little while he eventually quieted down to a large adult beverage.

 

I did not like the food here at all. And I recieved horrible service. It was not very clean either.
