For the past couple of years, I have had my 2003 Ford Focus washed and serviced at WHITEWATER on Stockdale highway. The cost for a complete lube and oil change averages about 45.00.
The last time I had a Wash and Lube performed was July 9/2009. On July 18, 2009, I drove to Santa Barbara and noticed my transmission was slipping. I checked the transmission fluid and was horrified to discover THERE WASN'T EVEN SO MUCH AS A DROP OF TRANSMISSION FLUID ON THE DIPSTICK!
Before you ask, my car has no fluid leaks - ZERO. upon inspecting the rest of the fluids, I discovered the brake fluid was low, the coolant level was low and the power steering fluid was low. YET I HAD JUST PAID FOR THESE FLUIDS TO BE TOPPED OFF AND IT IS SO NOTED ON MY RECEIPT!
I will never EVER allow WHITEWATER Wash & Lube to service my vehicle again. If you don't care if your vehicle is taken care of properly, then by all means go to WHITEWATER.
As for me, I'll go to another business - One that actually performs the work they bill for.
I intend to complain to them in person about this and if they give me ANY problems, I will report them to the California Bureau of Automotive Repair. This could have cost me a replacement transmission ! ! !
