I took my wife to dinner at Woolgrowers on Saturday, December 13. Since I didn't make reservations in advance, they weren't sure if they could accommodate us because a large Christmas party was booked for dinner. We decided to wait anyway...and it was definitely worth it! They went out of their way to make room for us, and were exceptionally gracious about it too! The food was excellent and very filling. My wife had roast lamb and I had the lamb chops. Both were well prepared and seasoned just right. Great place, great food, great service, and reasonable prices. Keep it up Woolgrowers!

The reason Wool Growers is a mainstay is because of the great food, and lots of it, and the great service. The owner, Jinny, is not only a sweetheart, but she has assembled a top rate crew that tends to your every need. The pickled tongue is excellent and the ox tails melt off the bone. Best soup (mix in those beans and salsa) and french fries in town.
We had tri-tip on a recent Friday and it was very tasty. It's why I've been going to this restaurant for all 29 years I've been in Bakersfield.
