Hey--I agree that Woolgrowers is an institution, and the atmosphere is great as well--been going here 30+ years. . .But. . .the food is really falling off. The Lamb chops are small and dry, the Garlic Chicken greasy. Try Pyrenees for food and atmosphere, or Benjis for friendliness and awesome food as well. Woolgrowers is more hype than the real thing anymore.

By far and away on of the best restaurants in Bakersfield. Great food and great Service. The staff makes you feel right at home. The menu selection is great running the gamit from lamd, beef, fish and fowl. You must be hungry to eat here. It is served family style with bread, salsa, beans, soup, pasta, cold vegatable and the best french fries in Bakersfield. Do not forget to order the hard jack chees on the side. Also great blue cheese.

CALIF., AS WELL AS WATCHING A SEGMENT ON BASQUE CULTURE ON THE HUELL HOWSER SHOW. I HAD THE "SET UP" FOR LUNCH-LOL. THE QUANTITY AND QUALITY OF THE FOOD WAS SUCH THAT NEAR THE END IT BECAME COMICAL!!!. I AS WELL AS THE STAFF HAD A GRAND TIME WITH MY AMAZEMENT WITH ALL THE FOOD. I SURE WISHED THEY HAD A WOOL GROWERS DOWN HERE IN SO. CALIF!!!!. P.S. THE LONG ISLAND ICE TEA'S AREN'T BAD EITHER!!! LOL.
