The absolute best Chili Size anywhere!!!  The meat is so tender, you can (easily!)  cut it with a fork, and absolutely delicious!  I've only been there 3 times, but every time the food has been wonderful and the service prompt and friendly.  Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Bakersfield!

This place is a diamond in the rough it has been right under our nose and we diden't even smell it not to mention it is a legacy in bakersfield for the Harmon Rocket this is a place you have to visit the people are great and the atmosphere is great you feel very welcome.

We liked it so much we ate there 2 days in one week and considered going back the next day we are looking forword to saturday for karaoke.

After a group of friends had been for breakfast (with great reviews), we decided to ride out on a Sunday afternoon for appetizers and cold beer & nascar! upon arrival, we noticed a fairly good lunch crowd, which is always a good sign!

we stood by the 'please wait to be seated' sign posted by the "Nascar Super Shop" (LOL) we stood there and stood there and stood there. finally, after being ingnored and embarassed, i decided to lead my spouse over to a high two-top by the bar, so we could enjoy a view of the Nascar TV. we could hear the bartender complaining that she was tired and almost off-shift. she took our order for appetizers and beer, and returned with both,  tasted good! a bit later she returned wanting to close-out our tab so she cuold leave, which we did and ordererd another round, added the tip, and she departed. she wasnt nice, mean, or rude. just plain and indifferent. as the bartenders changed positions, we noticed that the 'new' gal couldnt stop picking at, wiping at, and brushing at her nose the entire time we were there! we sat at our table with NO fresh beer, water, food, ANYTHING! for over 48 minutes. the ONLY reason we stayed that long, was to watch the last few laps of the race, since we had a long ride home. we didnt get totally ignored, because i sneezed once and the chubby waiter said "bless you" ....later i saw him lift his visor and scratch at and rub his nubby head for at least 3 minutes, prior to bringing out food  to a service of at least 7 people! augh!

we often arrange (and love to schedule) numerous 'group-rides' and are always looking for great new places to meet-up!

i can gurantee that (although the cooks do a great job) we wont return, since the owners and wait-staff could care less if a customer is ignored! as well as obviously have NO hygene skills !

After reading so many great reviews about this place, I decided to give it a shot.  I showed up and told some lady it was my first time there.  She was really nice and gave me a menu.  I looked it over, and decided I was ready to order.  And I sat there.  And sat there.  And sat there some more.  The lady who so graciously seated me stood at the end of the bar and was yapping away.  After getting her attention, she came over and said, "Oh, she didn't take your order?"  I guess she was referring to the waitress working the floor, not the bar.

At any rate, I ordered a caesar salad.  One wouldn't think that making a caesar salad would take very long, especially considering the place wasn't busy at all when I was there.  But it took longer than I expected.  When I finally got the salad, the lettuced hadn't been cut into sizeable leaves, but were rather huge flanks of romaine lettuce that I had to tear apart with my hands.  It had to be the most disappointing $8 salad I've ever eaten.

Due to the long wait, high price of the item I ordered, and disappointment in the product I received, I will not be going back.
