I was a little nervous about purchasing my gown in Bakersfield because I felt like there wouldn't be designer options.  I went to Ladies and Gents and was VERY surprised to find some amazing gowns that weren't super expensive.

Even better, I had gone to David's before and received kind of rude service.  The girls at Ladies and Gents were really fun and helpful.  I had fun, and didn't feel pressured.  What a relief... Can't wait to wear my dress on 10-10-2010!!

I wear a size 10 at Banana Republic and my dress was ordered a size 18.  I don't care about the number at all, that does not matter.  I care if it fits.  My dress arrived so large I had to spend $ to have it fit to me.  When I complained I was told I don't understand how the system works.   My sister in law bought the same dress, our measurements are ONE inch apart and she was ordered a size 14.  On top of it all I was charged for being plus size. I have two daughters who will not be getting their dresses through Ladies and Gents.

The young ladies who work here are very helpful, gathering dresses in your size that they think you might like (even if different than what you THOUGHT you might like).  The store's extended hours also make it easy for people who work to get to also shop!
