My partner and I had a late lunch/early dinner at Moo Creamery about 2 weeks ago. I had the Monte Cristo with fries. The sandwich had the barest amount of meat on it and the fries were so salty I had to brush them off before eating them one at a time.
My partner had the Roasted Turkey CLub which he said was fair. His onion rings were over-cooked- as though they had been double-dunked in the fryer to warm them up after already having been cooked once.
At $8 per sandwich and $2 per drink the place is a little on the pricey side for the quality and portion sizes.
Despite being un-impressed with the food we each had a single scoop of ice-cream (their name-sake and calling-card) on a waffle cone. I had the pumpkin pie and my partner opted for vanilla. I will say that it was (for me) very tastey, not overly sweet. My partner said his ice-cream was "OK" but he likes sugary-sweet (Coldstone) ice cream anyway. Still, it was hard to justify $3 per scoop of ice cream. The one redeeming quality is that they pack the whole cone with icecream rather than just resting a single scoop on top.
My guess is that the concept of Moo Creamery will be sold as a franchise to a large conglomerate before the end of 2 years. What started as a Bakersfield-based business will eventualy become just another Rosemary's-like novelty.
Moo Creamery's Response:
first - i want to say thank you for your comments - we always love feedback.
i am so sorry that you were not pleased with your food here. the monte cristo is more bread than meat, as there are 3 pieces of bread and it is a cross between a sandwich and french toast.
i will follow up with the fry station, as it sounds like you did not receive fries and onions rings that are up to our standards.
glad you liked the pumpkin pie ice cream - we do not make our ice cream too sweet, as we like to taste the flavor of the cream itself. we use organic dairy from straus farms and it is delicious with very little sweetener added. for those that do like sweet, i recommend our brown sugar ice cream or butterscotch brownie swirl.
i know that are prices are higher than fast food chains, but we make our bread from scratch and use the highest quality ingredients that we can find from around the world -
i would love for you to give us another chance - give us a call or shoot us an email and we will take care of you - ask for jessica or richard
we are just a husband/wife team and do not look to sell or franchise. we appreciate the feedback very much, as we are always looking to improve. we will continue to fine tune everything and bring homemade seasonal food to bakersfield. thanks again!

Good food, enjoyed the Mac N Cheese. I would say that the ice cream is the big selling point here. Not a surprise since it is a creamery, but the ice cream is delicious.

I work near Moo so I go there periodically. Their salads are out of this world, especially if you add the optional seared Ahi tuna...YUM! I had their new salad, the Farmer's Market salad, today. It features arugula, goat cheese, and roasted squash, tomatoes and onions, with a red wine vinaigrette dressing. It was wonderful, and so substantial I could only finish half of it. But don't think I didn't take the other half with me to enjoy later!
