Think I've been here about 5 times or so. The first time it was super busy and kind of took a while, which is the usual for any new place to eat in town so I was expecting that...no big deal - after that one time it's been normal to pretty quick. Every time I've gone the food has been FANTASTIC. I love the gourmet take on everything, the burgers are so yummy (I like my burgers slighting moo-ing, har har, so I don't mind the fact they are cooked med-rare!)...the house sauce is AWESOME. I love the salt and fresh cracked pepper on the onion rings so much. Beer selection is really good, too!
I've only ordered ice cream once, the Dusty Road; it was soooo delicious (homemade graham crackers and marshmallow sauce!!!), I'd go back there many times just for that!!!
The staff has been extremely friendly every time, it's a nice change. The owners look really nice, I always see them saying hello/goodbye to people. I also love the atmosphere in general. I'd like to go there soon and try breakfast sometime too! Now, if they were only closer I'd go a whole lot more [move to the NW? :)]

My husband and I try and make it over to Moo at least once a month, we love it! The food is prepared in wonderful ways like the onion rings for instance and in a beer tempura batter which is amazing! and they have their own special tasty ranch. My favorite is the greek salad Its so tasty and my husband loves the hamburgers. I love restaurants that try and do weird and interesting flavor mixes and I was just so excited to see their wine and ice cream combos and beer and ice cream! Im pregnant right now so I can't try them just yet but I will. Also their cookies are AMAZING!!! I had a butterscotch cookie and I thought I was going to cry when I ate it. =) The place is still trying to catch its rhythm with its staff but overall its a wonderful place and the owners seem to be right up in it takin care of business and making sure everyone is happy. We were!
P.S. They will let you try their different ice creams and they make their own whipped cream!

I've gone, oh, a dozen times at least, each time for dinner. Need to try the breakfast sometime! For a fresh, interesting burger and some delicious ice cream, this is the spot to go. Yes, the prices are not the prices of the local greasy chain, but the food isn't either - Moo's got fresh, flavorful ingredients and good quality. I've had most of the burgers they offer - the Mexican Border Burger remains a favorite. They also have a pleasant selection of wines and beers, the later both bottled and on tap. It is the Blue Moon they have on tap that drew me originally. It is one of my favorite beers to get on tap and I always have an eye out for restaurants offering it. But it is the quality of the food that has me coming back!
I've noticed people complain about how the burgers are cooked. Personally, I love the medium, but maybe Moo should have the guy taking the orders ask people "Medium or well-done?" to remove those complaints. I can imagine people who are used to a thoroughly cooked offering may be surprised by the medium.
We stop by other eateries sometimes but have taken to heading here for ice cream afterwards. The Dusty Road is great if you like that kind of thing - ice cream with choc and marshmellow syrup, and a malt powder dusting. I believe the ice cream is made from organic dairy too, if that's your thing. I just know it tastes pretty darn good. You may not get an enormous blob of ice cream, but the portions offered are perfect to round off a meal - maybe even leave feeling just a little stuffed.
I hope they stick around for a long time. It is a great bit of variety to have in Bakersfield. I'll be back and back and back. Thanks, Moo!

I tried this place on my lunch hour because I'd heard good things and I'm all about helping family owned and operated businesses in town. Champion the little guy, you know? I wasn't very impressed. Expensive for what I recieved, and my burger was not cooked the way I would prefer. The ice cream was fantasic, but you could easily go for Ben and Jerry's for around the same price and a lot more ice cream. I'll hesitate to go back.
