Great burgers and the salad w/ goodies is the best. But you can't forget about the pies! Only negative is that you have to get there early to get a seat.

I have now been there twice. I went once with a group on a Friday night shortly after they opened. I also went this past Monday night. Both times I went the service was extremely bad (about a two hour affair). The non sushi people were served about 20 mins before everybody else and felt bad for finishing their meals before the others had started theirs. The food was good but the service was disorganized and frustrating!! Maybe try Sunday afternoon?

Kosmos Restaurant and Sports Bar
Delicious food, warm-hearted staff, and beautiful people. I feel as though im being greeted by family every time I enter Kosmo's doors. It's nice to know that there are still great authentic places to enjoy yourself here in Bakersfield...you would be doing yourself a huge favor by experiencing Kosmo's yourself. oompa!

The food is amazing and MY server was great!! The atmosphere is different and the decor is beautiful. However, all of that aside, I am a person of character/class. The owner (I think she was the owner) wears jeans and t-shirts and literally YELLS at her employees. I find that very rude! Especially to do it in front of customers. Wow this restaurant has the best Signature Burger. I asked for medium cooked, and juicy medium cooked, was delivered. The bun was fresh. For a delicious basic burger, lettuce, tomato, onions with excellent meat; this is the best burger in town.

Don Pericos Mexican Restaurant
My daughter and I visited yesterday after the lunch rush. We were immediately seated and waited on. Our meal was served quickly. Hot chips and salsa were served. The chips were good and hot, salsa was watery, lacked flavor. My combo plate of chicken enchilada and chile relleno with rice and refried beans was a little disappointing. The enchilada and relleno sauce lacked flavor. We shared a fried ice cream dessert. Presentation was very nice but the coating was chewy. Had been precooked....

This is the worst place to order a burger. I ordered a double cheese burger to go and they charged me $10.50 and they dont serve fries (A burger without fries is like pancakes without the syrup)I took it back to work and unwraped the tinfoil to find a soggy burger. never again.

I have been going to this restaurant since it opened. This place has great food, service and a wonderful atmosphere. I have only had one dish I did not like and the waiter quickly corrected the problem. If you want great food and an awesome place to just hang out this would be the place.

This is my favorite sushi place I have tried so far! I absolutely love the atmosphere, the service is good, and the waiters/waitresses have all been very nice. I've probably tried about 80% of the "Special Rolls" and they were awesome. Their appetizers that I have tried were amazing as well (try Monkey Brains!). I went to lunch here today and I really liked every dish that I tried. Great family style set up! I had the jerk chicken, the chicken with the dijon sauce, the corn cakes with the cheese in them. I don't know that actual dish names because they are different but you will know when you look at the menu. We ordered 4 dishes for 4 people to share and I would say we could have used more. Valentien has changed. Before Tittl's review we walked in on a Saturday night with no reservation and were immediately seated. The food that night was wonderful, braised lamb and a fine duck breast. I have been to Shogun a couple of times and found it wonderful each time. We received some sushi we did not order, but the manager fixed the bill and offered the sushi for free. I agree the servers are not much more than busboys, but the food is great and if you can, get David. There is no better show.

Went there for Mother's Day having a noon reservation.Opened the door and found mysellf in the middle of about 15 angry people screaming about thier reservations and lack of tables. went for a friend's b-day and the service was beyond horrible. the server didn't know anything about the food. every person in our party was overcharged or charged for things we never ordered. the manager refused to make the proper changes to our bill and made a huge scene in front of the other diners. i will NEVER go back there

Every time I went to Maitia's, they always have a consistently good and well prepared food. My favorites are lamb chop and pickled tongue!

As far as atmosphere goes, there is no where else like the Tam O' Shanter in town. The architecture and dim lighting create a mafia/ rat pack type feel. The menu is a bit on the pricy side but well worth it if you're looking for a romantic night out. I have to say that this place has one of the best filets in town. The wait staff is usually friendly and attentive and I don't think I've been there once when Manny didn't come and personally greet me. This place is a must-try!

As far as buffets go, Hodel's has it down the best. They keep the offerings simple and good. The salad bar is always fresh and the hot bar always has tasty items available. The breakfast never disappoints. Hodel's is a great place to take friends and family from out of town.

Red Lobster is an average fish restaurant. Unless they are running specials the prices are too high. The food is OK. Reb Lobster works if you are in a pinch. If you are seeking good quality seafood then you should look elsewhere.

The best pizza in town. I am normally not one that is impressed with chain restaurants, but BJ's has certainly impressed me. I go there for the pizza. If you order the BBQ Chicken or the Great White you will leave with a smile on your face. A medium pizza is more than enough for two people and you can order half and half (half BBQ Chick & half Great White). The prices are reasonable, and the service is great. You can not go wrong with this restaurant.

I have been on record as saying this place had really gone downhill recently. I stand by that previous statement. But, I had heard good things about the new owners so we decided to go again. The changes were noticeable. The restaurant was busy and the people friendlier. The service was a little slow but it was Elton John concert night, so that can be overlooked. We go to the Sugar Mill every Friday evening and Sunday Morning. Lovely family restaurant, the best customers too! The food is fantastic, especially the steaks, pork ribs and catfish. The senior meals are filling and the children's menu is outstanding. Service is great. WE Love, VERA!!!! The friendly owner and his family pitch in too! The service we received was just awful. And it wasn't like we were hidden, we were right by the kitchen and ordering computers. We never did receive our meal. We also complained to the owner and hostess. They both had nothing to say, not even a sorry. I have to think that they figure one customer is not important. And because customer service is so poor I will never recommend this restaurant. I had such high hopes with the move.

I have never been so disgusted by a restaurant's service as I was at Prime Cut. We had never been to the new place. When ordering the waitress rushed us through any questions we asked and acted annoyed that we didn't know if we wanted fries with our sandwiches and burger (which come at an additional charge). We asked that our drinks come with our food and she proceeded to bring them out only five minutes after ordering. We then waited an additional 40 minutes without any food or any...

I work one block from Sequoia and it's my LAST choice for lunch. Even when FAXing the order they screw it up 7 out of 10 times. When picking up the order you have to stand in line for 20 minutes just to pick up your (cold) hot sandwich. Avoid unless you like long lines and semi-warm sandwiches.

When I am really hungry, this is one of my favorite lunch places to go. I am sure most of the menu is very good, but my favorite is Taco Salad.....and my friends' favorite is "Jake's chocolate cake"!!! But it is bit pricy, very crowded and hard to find a table, and parking is a challenge!! Strongly recommended to go earlier than regular lunch hour.

In response to the individual who wrote that the early bird special was not available. This is the old bate and switch. Running a gas station was very good experience to run a steak house.

I ABSOLUTELY HATED SUSHI......until I ate here. no gamey taste the service is top-notch the vegas roll, and dragon balls are tops on my list!!! the mexican roll isn't half bad either. what I really enjoy there is the tofu steaks, and the green tea ice cream their sister restaurant, tokyo garden, also has the same sushi menu

I have been going to the hat for over 10 years now. 2 things keep me coming back 1. the food is consistantly good. everything done the same way....all the time 2. the kitchen is lightning-fast, and the food comes out in no time at all my favorite dish there is the taco combination...#10...but I get the tacos in a crispy flour shell.....the tacos are sooooo big, they have to bring them out on a seperate plate. good stuff!!
