Sunday is the best Champange Brunch.
Ever now and then after church we can convince the family to eat together. When everyone starts throwing names out there, Hodels is the one we all agree on. They have something for everyone. Salads of all kinds for the lettuce lover; fried chicken and beef for the meat lovers; and ice cream for the kids. Take your time; enjoy the family and the food. Home like enviroment soon as you walk in.
A large selection of wings to pick from: if you can stand the heat: they have the firey hot wings; or if you are like me you will stick with the regular hot wings. Very well priced and friendly staff.. And the best part you can call it in and pick it up..
Elephant Bar; i had always heard so much about it but i wasnt quite sure what it was. Usually sitting at a bar is a little uncomfortable to close to each other, but not here. Wonderful place to impress a first date.. And the outside is just as nice..
My favorite Mexican restaurant on the East side. The shrimp tacos are great, the enchiladas, the flautas, etc. etc. Highly recommend for a great dinner or lunch with friends and family.
Another one of my favorites. Good sushi, the Las Vegas is my favorite and the fried rice seems to be exceptionally good here, too. A+++
Love this place! Been here many times and spent lots of money. The Bakersfield Roll is soooo good and the shrimp teppanyaki is so yummy. Sake bombs are pretty awesome as well. Ask for David the chef, your table will not get bored :)
Well, I still want to give this place a chance because it seems so great and the atmosphere is nice. The food was sort of cold and it just wasn't all that great, I was expecting so much more I guess. The drinks were ok, but one round we got tasted really gross. I'm sorry! Just telling the truth. :) Hopefully, the next time will be better.
Well, I guess I am bias because I know the owner, but this place is so wonderful. I love lunch or dinner here and to be able to share dishes with some friends is fun. I've tried most of the entrees and they are all good and have so much flavor. My must have when I go is the tortilla soup, it's the best! And the mojitos rock!
0n 2-14 my parents renewed their vows, they chose Capistrano as the restaurnat they were going to invite everyone to. Not that we took for granted the joyus occasion we had just seen but soon as everyone started eating the talk was off the happy couple and on the wonderful food, from lamb;chicken; porkchops even the cake, by the time the meal was over everyone was so full we forgot to exchange presents. Family and friends were here from LA; Laguna Beach; Rosmound and they were inpressed. It...
Used to be one of my fave, but now, the chicken is usually dry and the service is just oky, in a since it is fast food...
Kinda over priced to me, but i love there meat lovers pizza.
I know that it is called pizzaville but it should actually be called drummetteville. The have the best drummettes north, east, south , west of the kern river..
Now with two locations to choose from, you can either pick: corn meal or flour batter, my fav is the catfish and shrimp combo: i get the fish in corn meal and the shrimp in flour.. Feeling frisky try the fried oysters and hushpuppies..
Phine's Southern Style Cooking
Phines in a word is Good, my favorite is the cornbread, they make like a pancake. It's all the sweet i need. My order is: catfish; green; yams and corn bread; all in that order. And in case you are in the mood for kool-aid, they even offer it in a to-go cup.
Quick food, but i think the chicken is a litte greasy, dont like the fact that most of the specials are not priced for white meat( always extra) Still if you want fast chicken, and you've got napkins, Church's is the place to stop.
Take a friend, your appetite, go there sit downl; make sure you get your candle for your table; pick your toppings for your pizza; much on a chicken ceasar salad while you await for your custom made pizza.. Be sure to box up your leftover; you will be eating cold pizza the next day..
I admit.. when i get one of those happy face cookies, you all know the sugar cookie with the yellow face; chocalate eyes and smile. yes that one, well whenever i get one i cant help to feel like smith's bakery is the perfect place to forget all my worries.. Enjoy
Not the ice cream truck regulars; here you can have what you always wanted as a kid, strawberry ice cream with reeses peanut cups; or be adventureous and add nuts; rasins and pinapple and make it healthy. Dont forget you need a cherry on top.
Evryone thinks hamburgers; but the fish and chips are great along with my freckled lemoade, more importantly you get free refills.. And of course your kids might even get a chance to see The RED ROBIN himself or ( her) whatever your mind wants the rooster to be...
If you gotta eat at a gas station here are 2 must do's( dont talk on your cell phone) and make sure you stop here to fill your car and your stomach up..
Not a big crab lover, but the biscuits; im still trying to make at home,,,Anyone got the recepie
My choice evry time: Shrimp Fried Rice;;; the freshest and you can call it in;
I love the atmosphere; very relaxing
They even offer salad; cheese bread and lasagna; a who meal baked in 20 minutes
I love the fact you can eat have something to eat named after someone famous right here in the heat
Tahoe Joe's Famous Steak House
If you dnt mind the wait, you'll love the steak,,,
Olive Garden Italian Restaurant
All you can eat; soup; salad; and break sticks.. Dnt forget the flavored tea...
I know the orange chicken, but trust me, when i say try the almond chicken, you'll have a new fave
Go there on an empty stomah, you will want to same room for cake
Chicken is xlint, Friday try the fish, everything from the corn bread to the yams is delicious,,,
The menu is filled with options, all of which sound tasty, ad the shrimp spring rolls are nothing short of fantastic. There are some unusual drinks on the menu such as pickled apricot and soda (a bit too sour for my taste) and coconut juice (nicely presented with coconut wedges in the glass). Although the space is a little small for its popularity during the lunch rush, the service is good and the atmosphere friendly.
The burritos here are huge! The menu above the counter is extensive and they have a decent selection of bottled Mexican beer as well. A good late meal destination since they're open later than many restaurants in the area.
My first time customer experience was great. Lots of food. Great taste. This place is very inexpensive*
There are some outstanding home style Mexican food in Bakersfield, and Ruben's serves some of the best examples. Ruben's has a lunch menu that has burritos, fajitas, enchiladas, etc. for about $6 or $7. The lunch specials come with frijoles y arroz and usually last me two meals. If you're going for lunch, I'd recommend the burrito verde or chicken fajitas.
My wife and returned to Valentien today after a long absence. The first and last time we had gone was for a special prix fixe Valentine's Day dinner 3 years ago--our first V-Day in Bakersfield, and our last before our daughter's birth. Today, while our babygirl was decorating heart-shaped cookies with some friends, we went back for a nice Valentine's Day lunch. Valentien is an amazing lunch deal. Tuesday through Friday, they serve a 3-course prix fixe menu for fifteen dollars. That...
Nice relaxing atmosphere. Very large tv! the food was allright. I'd recommend this to a sea-food lover.
Kosmos Restaurant and Sports Bar
KOSMOS is wonderful... the food is excellent!!! But, the best part about it is the FAMOUS Jimmy the Greek as well as his wife Elainey!!! Great people. And for you alcholics out there, there is a SPLENDID variety of liquor, anything you can think of... and the best damn chocolate cake shots ever!!! If you love Greek food (which I know you do! Bc I do) Tiropita and Spanakopita, as well as Saganaki!!! OOOOPPPPPAAAA!!!!! So STOP by!!! It will be your new favorite restaurant!!! GUARANTEED!!!!
I agree with everyone about the cole slaw. It's the best I ever had in my life. Sometimes I just order a bowl of cole slaw and a bowl of cottage cheese. Their fish and chips are great especially since they don't look at you funny when you ask for vinegar with your chips!! I used to work very close to this place. I'm glad I don't any more because I'd be eathing there or at Joseph's every day.
I love this place! I never had a bad lunch there. A lot of times I order the house Antipasto. It is a meal in itself and the price is right! They have good bread too.
I liked the food here, I guess, but that big room was so big and drafty and dirty that I don't want to go back. I guess it has some charm, or something.
I agree with Motoko. Ho hum. The food is really overpriced. I do like the wine list though.
Cactus Valley Mexican Restaurant
I have been to Cactus Valley several times over the past few years, and the food and service have always been consistantly "Great" we will drive down from Tehachapi Just for the food!!! I recommend Cactus Valley to everyone.... Yummy, it is worth the drive on Rosedale
People rave about this place, but I didn't like the sushi at all. It's sort of a funky place, though.
I love their ceviche and the ambience of the restaurant. But it does get crowded so go early!
This is my favorite casual-food place in Bakersfield, but I usually get something like a Family-Pak to go instead of eating in. The place is a gold mine. I never had anything I didn't enjoy.
Please, someone, open up another Indian restaurant!
Great Staff!!! Great food for a low cost, and great service
Bad Service!
Slow service
