Try the creme brulee cheesecake!!! OMG it is so wonderful!!! I love their use of ingredients here, its not just basic basic bakersfield restaurants generally have. I usually get their south of the border sandwich.. with an ortega chili and pico de gallo, it is amazing! It is so hard not to choose that, but for my birthday (which I had my party there) I opted for the blackened chicken tortelinni and that was sooo good! I need to go back and try more because there is soo many good looking...
I cannot say enough good things about this place!! It has the best service in Bakersfield!! I usually go here once every 2 weeks or so, and every single time I have come in, the service has been excellent! Most always when I come in I get a big Hi! and when I leave its a 'Thanks for coming have a great day!' type thing. That is important to me, I hate the feeling when you walk in a place and are not greeted, you just feel like they don't care that you are there. I usually come for lunch and...
OMG is it possible to give no stars?!?! This places deserves negative stars!!! Awful Awful Awful!!! I seriously have never had worse service in my life! Food was eh. I ordered fajitas and they didn't come with sour cream so I asked for some...and I got charged for it! This is not a fast food place, you don't charge for stuff like that! Food took forever, server didnt give refills, dropped the check and never came back! So we took it up to the front and there were 5 employees hovering...
I went here a couple months ago and food was decent, server was really nice, so I figured I would come back. I went for lunch yesterday (02-22-07) and I was really dissapointed! I ordered the country breakfast. I was dissapointed with the gravy, it was pretty bland and flavorless, i added tons of pepper and improved it a bit..but not much. I guess after having Kelleys Cafe's awesomely flavored gravy, this just paled in comparrison. The server was kinda iffy, an older lady, pretty nice, only...
This place is great. The microbrews are the best. The food is good and the service is excellent. Great place to hang out and relax and enjoy!
I hate to say it but I was so excited when I learned we were getting a BJ's in Bakersfield. I have eaten at several other BJ's in various other cities in California as well as other states. I love the food. But time and time again I am disappointed with the service at the Bakersfield location. Good food can overcome a lot but not bad service. Not to mention my compaints about the service to the restaurant have fallen on deaf ears.
Of all the franchise joints, this is a pretty solid place. Family friendly, probably not a place to look for a mate. That said, great pizzas and salads. Try the Walnut Chicken salad and the Milan pizza. Another good thing about this place: the corporate owners put a lot into training and customer service, and you and generally rely on first class service. Always an advantage in a town not known for this...
Best tacos for little $$$$
This place rocks. I've eaten at a lot of Indian restaurants in Los Angeles, and none came close to the rich, varied and authentic flavors TaJ Mahal serves up. I think Bakersfield is really lucky to have some place like this. The meals are really reasonably priced and you can get out of their cheaply if you want to. The waiters are ready to answer any questions, and I had a ton the first time I ate there. The best part about this restaurant is that you can return a dozen times, have...
Saturday morning breakfasts here are so fun with my parents. The chorizo and pan fried potatoes is my favorite thing to get, but the pancakes are pretty good, too.
This place is so awesome! Sort of pricey, but totally worth it. The shrimp dumplings are a must have, so is the mongolian beef and lemon pepper shrimp. The Dragon Oohlong tea is great with dinner and the banana spring roll dessert is to die for! Recommend highly to anyone for any event. :)
Great restaurant! Bacon burger and pie is all you need. Also, this place has a very friendly atmosphere.
GREAT FOOD EVERY TIME
Don Pericos Mexican Restaurant
THE FOOD IS GREAT BUT WHEN IT COMES TO THEM AND THE VALUE OF SAFTY OF THEIR CUSTOMERS THEY SUCK. A WOMAN I DONT KNOW STARTED PICKING A FIGHT WITH ME ABOUT SOMETHING THAT DIDNT CONCERN HER AND THE RESTURANT EMPLOYEES SEEN IT AND SAID OR DID NOTHING TO WHERE I LEFT TO PREVENT A FIGHT THAT WAS REALLY BAD.
If the only reason to visit Quiznos on Chester and 18th is to say hello to the owner, Ronda, along with the excellent staff, the place would earn 5 stars. You are always made to feel like you are their only customer. That said, the food is nice and tasty. I even went there so often last summer I sort of got burnt out. Your body can only take so many Honey Mustard salads. Still, I eat there no less than 2 to 3 times a month. My children especially love the kids meal.
Great ice cream. Great shakes. Great Tradition. The waiters and waiters, although youthful, are very mature in their outlook and effort. I would like to make a gentle reminder to management that when things get crazy, such as when the graduation, kids recitals, and large family gathering crowds seem to converge all at once, which is normally on a weekend, you cannot forget to keep a smile and be gracious to your loyal customers.
I eat here on average of twice a week during baseball season and twice a month in the off season. The food is great for a sports bar and the waitresses and ownership is always friendly with a smile on their faces. The only time I would not go to Tailgaters is when you are with your family and you want to grab a bite after church during football season. Wrong move. Also, go somewhere else if you want to grab a bite before the Condors game and you don't have tickets. Favorite menu items:...
La Costa is the gold standard of mexican restaurants in town. I love the food so much, I even take business clients here. That being said, I only order one thing off the menu--Pollo en mole. I can't help it. I am addicted to this stuff.
My wife Alice and I dined at Miyoshi for our tenth anniversary on February 15th. We had dined at Miyoshi a month before and had a very good experience. However, I was concerned that our experience would not be the same because of the special occasion (e.g. they do not take reservations). Nothing bad happened. In fact, our dinner was even better than before. More importantly, their service was excellent. Although the tastiness of the food at Miyoshi goes without saying, the food tastes even...
This was the first restaurant I dined at in Bakersfield. I'm no Sushi expert, but everything I had here was great. The service was fantastic and the atmosphere pleasant. All the Sushi lovers I've talked to since eating here have said Miyoshi has the best Sushi in town.
When I come here, I enjoy the food, I enjoy the service, and I definitely enjoy that little piece of apple pie! I love the fact that you get that little treat after your meal. You don't see any other places around town doing that!
This place has the best tasting pizza in Bakersfield. My new fave is the white chicken pizza. It consists of alfredo sauce, chicken, cheese, all on top of a soft but lightly crunchy crust! Mainly what I love is the fact that there pizza's aren't as greasy as most pizza places around town. Great service and great food.
T L Maxwell's Restaurant & Bar
This was the first time my Wife and I have had dinner there, Valentines Day, and it won't be the last. Mr. Maxwell greeted us and sat us himself, nice touch. The wait staff was excelent as was the atmosphere. Now lets get to the real star of this experience, the food is out of this world. I ordered the Gorganzola Fillet, and let me tell you the sauce on this meat was outstanding, the cheese just right (not fully melted down) and the flllet was nice and pink and soft as butter. My Wife is...
Sunday is the best Champange Brunch.
Ever now and then after church we can convince the family to eat together. When everyone starts throwing names out there, Hodels is the one we all agree on. They have something for everyone. Salads of all kinds for the lettuce lover; fried chicken and beef for the meat lovers; and ice cream for the kids. Take your time; enjoy the family and the food. Home like enviroment soon as you walk in.
A large selection of wings to pick from: if you can stand the heat: they have the firey hot wings; or if you are like me you will stick with the regular hot wings. Very well priced and friendly staff.. And the best part you can call it in and pick it up..
Elephant Bar; i had always heard so much about it but i wasnt quite sure what it was. Usually sitting at a bar is a little uncomfortable to close to each other, but not here. Wonderful place to impress a first date.. And the outside is just as nice..
My favorite Mexican restaurant on the East side. The shrimp tacos are great, the enchiladas, the flautas, etc. etc. Highly recommend for a great dinner or lunch with friends and family.
Another one of my favorites. Good sushi, the Las Vegas is my favorite and the fried rice seems to be exceptionally good here, too. A+++
Love this place! Been here many times and spent lots of money. The Bakersfield Roll is soooo good and the shrimp teppanyaki is so yummy. Sake bombs are pretty awesome as well. Ask for David the chef, your table will not get bored :)
Well, I still want to give this place a chance because it seems so great and the atmosphere is nice. The food was sort of cold and it just wasn't all that great, I was expecting so much more I guess. The drinks were ok, but one round we got tasted really gross. I'm sorry! Just telling the truth. :) Hopefully, the next time will be better.
Well, I guess I am bias because I know the owner, but this place is so wonderful. I love lunch or dinner here and to be able to share dishes with some friends is fun. I've tried most of the entrees and they are all good and have so much flavor. My must have when I go is the tortilla soup, it's the best! And the mojitos rock!
0n 2-14 my parents renewed their vows, they chose Capistrano as the restaurnat they were going to invite everyone to. Not that we took for granted the joyus occasion we had just seen but soon as everyone started eating the talk was off the happy couple and on the wonderful food, from lamb;chicken; porkchops even the cake, by the time the meal was over everyone was so full we forgot to exchange presents. Family and friends were here from LA; Laguna Beach; Rosmound and they were inpressed. It...
Used to be one of my fave, but now, the chicken is usually dry and the service is just oky, in a since it is fast food...
Kinda over priced to me, but i love there meat lovers pizza.
I know that it is called pizzaville but it should actually be called drummetteville. The have the best drummettes north, east, south , west of the kern river..
Now with two locations to choose from, you can either pick: corn meal or flour batter, my fav is the catfish and shrimp combo: i get the fish in corn meal and the shrimp in flour.. Feeling frisky try the fried oysters and hushpuppies..
Phine's Southern Style Cooking
Phines in a word is Good, my favorite is the cornbread, they make like a pancake. It's all the sweet i need. My order is: catfish; green; yams and corn bread; all in that order. And in case you are in the mood for kool-aid, they even offer it in a to-go cup.
Quick food, but i think the chicken is a litte greasy, dont like the fact that most of the specials are not priced for white meat( always extra) Still if you want fast chicken, and you've got napkins, Church's is the place to stop.
Take a friend, your appetite, go there sit downl; make sure you get your candle for your table; pick your toppings for your pizza; much on a chicken ceasar salad while you await for your custom made pizza.. Be sure to box up your leftover; you will be eating cold pizza the next day..
I admit.. when i get one of those happy face cookies, you all know the sugar cookie with the yellow face; chocalate eyes and smile. yes that one, well whenever i get one i cant help to feel like smith's bakery is the perfect place to forget all my worries.. Enjoy
Not the ice cream truck regulars; here you can have what you always wanted as a kid, strawberry ice cream with reeses peanut cups; or be adventureous and add nuts; rasins and pinapple and make it healthy. Dont forget you need a cherry on top.
Evryone thinks hamburgers; but the fish and chips are great along with my freckled lemoade, more importantly you get free refills.. And of course your kids might even get a chance to see The RED ROBIN himself or ( her) whatever your mind wants the rooster to be...
If you gotta eat at a gas station here are 2 must do's( dont talk on your cell phone) and make sure you stop here to fill your car and your stomach up..
Not a big crab lover, but the biscuits; im still trying to make at home,,,Anyone got the recepie
My choice evry time: Shrimp Fried Rice;;; the freshest and you can call it in;
I love the atmosphere; very relaxing
They even offer salad; cheese bread and lasagna; a who meal baked in 20 minutes
I love the fact you can eat have something to eat named after someone famous right here in the heat
Tahoe Joe's Famous Steak House
If you dnt mind the wait, you'll love the steak,,,
