Re-posting this so it will remind some of you that your pets need special attention  during this heat wave. Since the heat is here and you want to stay cool, do NOT forget your pets. You don't need to spend a lot of money to keep your pet healthy. For those that keep their pets outside here is a few ideas that isn't just great ideas some of it should be mandatory. Always keep a huge bucket of water. A little bowl will not work. No matter what size your pet is. Make sure that it doesn't sit in the sun, it can heat up to the same temperature of the surrounding air. A small child's swimming pool will be good for putting their paws in and drinking. Do not get a blow up pool. Having a doggy door to a cool room. Do not buy from a pet store, home improvement stores have them cheaper. Cooling misters. Not just good for pets but for you too.
