Gaylen Young, business reporter and anchor at KGET-TV, Channel 17, is leaving after 23 years. The company confirmed he was leaving. Gaylen says he was offered different work — more of the hard hitting variety — and higher pay, but he decided to leave because he felt his real niche was covering business. I like hard hitting reporting. I like a reader or a viewer saying in his kitchen chair, "My God, Martha, look at this." But I like Gaylen Young's style of reporting too. Over the years he did stories on too many businesses to name and always provided interesting information.  I learned more about my community from Gaylen Young's reports. I've done some of the same stories when I covered real estate, banking and agriculture, and I found Gaylen's reports to be fair and accurate. I think he provided a valuable service to the viewers and his news station. I will miss his reports. Posted by Steve E. Swenson
