A Californian "Oddly Enough" presentation Amidst the onslaught of mechanic’s liens currently flooding the county recorder’s office — most submitted by subcontractors seeking payment for work and supplies on construction projects — is an unusual one from General Electric Co. GE’s appliance division has filed suit to foreclose on a lien to recover “major appliances” from a troubled development in Wasco, Poplar Pointe. The half-built, gated neighborhood at Filburn and Poplar avenues has been sitting empty, gates locked, as a default and multiple liens and lawsuits play out. The 14 existing homes were theoretically “sold” in an online auction early this year, though no deals have yet closed, property records indicate. Now comes the appliance suit, filed last month.
