Synopsis: Update on Lost HIkers Details: This is a news release of the Kern County Sheriff's Department. Please do not contact the Sheriff's Communications Center. Date: Monday, March 31, 2008 Time: 11:02:07 AM Department contact: Sgt Ed Komin Phone: 303-4592 Details: At about 3:00 AM this morning, the Kern County Sheriff's Office received a call from the Ventura Sheriff's Office regarding lost hikers. Deputies discovered that at about 10:30 AM on 3-30-08, Greg Kimura of Simi Valley and Victor Herrera of San Clemente parked their vehicle at Cuddy Valley Rd and Mil Portero Hwy in the Frazier Park area. They began hiking, intending to scale the summit of Mt Pinos and then return to their vehicle. However, when family members had still not heard from them by 2:00 AM on 3-31-08, they reported Kimura and Herrera missing to the Ventura County Sheriff's Office.
