Q: Several months back, The Californian reported that a new racetrack was going to be built along Enos Lane, near I-5.  I have not since heard anything about this venture and am wondering what the status is. — Dan Brito Plans call for a half-mile oval that will become Kern County’s new home to NASCAR. It will be located just west of where Enos Lane (Highway 43) intersects with Interstate 5. Marion Collins, former owner of Mesa Marin, says: “We have a hearing on Nov. 9 before the county planning commission. We think everything is fine. If everything works out fine at the planning commission, we have to wait 12 days, then a permit will be issued to us. And then we can start moving dirt. ... Probably about a year from this weekend we’ll have an event.”
