Question: In today's (Nov. 7) issue of The Californian you talked about "meeting minutes," yet you did not clarify what that is. Would you mind explaining what "minutes" are for those of us who are not part of corporations or companies that do this? Thank you. — Gustavo Medina Answer: “Minutes” are the official, legal record of actions that took place at a meeting of a private company’s controlling board or of a public agency’s elected leadership, said Denise Pennell, Clerk of the Board for the Kern County Board of Supervisors. “Minutes” are called different things and collected different ways, Pennell said, but remain essentially the same.
