The family of the one-year-old who was hospitalized last month after drinking lighter fluid needs help. The father of Aniken Roquemore is struggling to pay for medical bills associated with the April 27 incident, when Aniken drank the fluid during a family barbecue at his home. He is out of the hospital but has respiratory problems and will need long-term aid. Father Jermaine Roquemore does not have insurance because he is a seasonal fire fighter, and doesn’t get aid when he’s off duty. The family is hosting a barbecue and concert fundraiser along with area businesses from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday at the AYSO soccer field at Cal State Bakersfield. A car show will also be featured.
