Are you sure you want to report the following content as a violation?
When I called Russell Johnson yesterday to ask if he was going to apply for his Planning Commission seat — you know, the one Councilman Ken Weir tried to kick him off last year, sparking an event that should have been known as the PlanningCommissionpocalypse (or maybe PlanningCommmissiongeddon) — I expected him to laugh and then say no. He did neither. I could envision a scenario in which Murray Tragish chose not to pursue a term, and then Harold Hanson chose to appoint Johnson. But Tragish has reapplied, and while I haven't asked Hanson, I would wager a small amount of money that Hanson will reappoint Tragish. I would also wager a large amount of money that Weir will not appoint Johnson. I e-mailed Weir late last week to ask whether he's soliciting applications, as opposed to just picking someone from the stack of those who apply of their own volition.
