We had a story in today's paper about a lawsuit brought by a group advocating tougher air pollution enforcement on dairies that's resulted in the temporary suspension of a major pollution rule.   Below is a press release from the air district distributed this morning. It's a complicated issue but what's happening is that the groups arguing for tougher rules for dairies are advocating for this rule to be suspended -- even though it could mean an increase in emissions during the summer smog season -- so a better rule can be developed. The air district's executive director says the group has the right to try to push for a better rule but they could have agreed to leave the existing one in place in the meantime.
