In May of this year detectives of the Bakersfield Police Department Narcotics unit in conjunction
with the local office of the DEA opened an investigation (OCDETF) into the distribution of
methamphetamine and cocaine by a group of individuals in the Bakersfield area. The
investigation revealed that this group was using modified Nissan Frontier pickup trucks to conceal and transport large quantities of these drugs.
In June, the first of a series of search warrants were served in Bakersfield.
At one location, 800 Normandy Drive, investigators arrested:
Cesar Eduaro Lopez, 25
Santana Vega-Felix, 61
Roberto Reyes Lopez, 30.
Investigators seized 14.12 pounds of methamphetamine (street value of $638,400), 2 1⁄2 ounces
of cocaine (street value of $7000), two vehicles, a 9mm handgun and $12,842.00 in...
