And who says we don't report good news? Three years ago, two adult kit foxes and four pups were killed during a landscaping project at the East Hills Mall. This week, a new family of kit foxes have been spotted near the same place where the 2004 tragedy occurred. Two adults and up to six pups are inhabiting a den, according to the Cal State Stanislaus Endangered Species Recovery Program. The adults are out eating gophers, squirrels and the ever-popular human castoffs of pizza and Taco Bell treats. Doesn't that make you feel good all over? Posted by Steve E. Swenson
