When my kids were young, I learned grounding them was punishment to me. All they did was whine and moan and take their 'groundedness" out on me. Much better to confine them to their rooms for a period of time. At least there, I didn't have to listen to the bad attitude. MY worst punishment was not letting me ride my horse for a determined amount of time. THAT straightened me up real quick!
