With 400 breeds and counting, the dog is more varied in size and behavior than any other species on the planet. NGC looks at mans evolutionary manipulation of dogs appearance, talents and temperament and the accelerating efforts to create breeds to suit our needs (more than 80 percent of todays breeds did not exist 150 years ago). This show aired on the National Geographic Channel in Dec Did anyone see it? I cannot find more info than the above so far :-( but it was a real eye opener on the whole breeding thing. Like Robb said there are so many things that have gone wrong from it. Like bad hips, shorter lives, blindness, breathing problems, mental illness, etc... This was a fantastic show.
