Ah yes, In 1963 I took the prePADI scuba diving course from the San Jouquin Scuba Divers Club.  It was in the summer and the pool was hotter than any bath tub.  We only wore skimpy bathing suits while we were training.  When I went to the ocean for the first time was when I saw my FIRST Lloyd Bridges style wet suit.  If you looked at it it tore!!. I finally got it on and was at Anacapa Island on their little boat.  I distintly remember thinking to myself as I was standing on  the edge of the boat ---  "I wonder why they call this a wet suit?"  Being my first dive they told me to jump in (also pre-boyancy compensators) and to stay on the top until the instructor had got in.  The weight belt had 20# too much lead weight on it.  I jumped over the side and with a flurry of bubbles and mega chilling cold my body screamed in agony as the cold water rushed into my suit and I spit out the mouth piece.  I was choking on the salt water and was scared to death as I plumetted to the...
