This is also a problem in many other churches, although the scientologists go much further in trying to kill psychiatry.  Many churches are suspicious about psychology and psychiatry.  And there are bad psychologists and psychiatrists out there.  However, the psychological and psychiatric dimensions of a person are real, and to deny this, and to treat human beings as one-dimensional, can contribute to the development of severe psychological and psychiatric problems.
