I remeber when my young bride was undergoing radiation treatment for breast cancer. The radiation really burns you after a while and she was so uncomfortable and in major pain! I consulted a lot of pharmacists who all seemed to know nothing about radiation burns. I spent hundreds on various burn relief sprays, gels, etc.
Then I read about the use of infrared light on burn patients and the tremendous help it was for tissue rejuvination. I thought, "I'm a smart guy. I'll just go to Radio Shack and buy the parts and build my own IR light bank." No, apparently I'm not that bright. So I bought a wand massager that had a built in bar of IR lights.
She did get some relief from it. And though she still has discolored skin from the radiation even a year later, the spot where I concentrated the IR light is a bit lighter than the rest. If we had kept using it, who knows?
