I worked a VERY short time at that IHOP and the early bird specials included drink and dessert. The place would fill up with senior citizens looking for a bargain meal. I thought it was great as they got meat, potato, veggie AND the dessert and drink for around 5 bucks back then. It's a great service to the seniors who may not have a full meal like that too often, especially in a restaurant. It doesn't have to be gourmet ya know. :-)
