Does McCain need Cheney? Absolutely not! Embracing Cheney would at best be a clear sign of desperation for McCain, The reason why McCain is having difficulty raising big bucks is because potential donors know they would be throwing their money away on a lost cause. Cheney might be the least liked person in the country, especially after he arrogantly retorted "so what" when told by a newscaster that polls indicated more than 70 percent of the country were against the war and believed he and the Bush administration were poor leaders. Being connected to Bush and his low popularity with two thirds of the voting public is bad enough for McCain, but Cheney is even more personally despised by legions of voters and being connected to him amounts to the political kiss of death. Any money Cheney might help to raise for McCain's campaign won't buy enough votes for McCain...
