My wife is a professional yard buyer..one time she bought a box of nik naks for $5..she brought it home and apparently whoever it belonged to had no idea what they had..they probably got it from an older relative that had been saving the items and knew they were worth something but maybe do to passing away or whatever the seller thought it was junk. Some of the glass wear vases she sold on ebay for over $200 apiece. .there was a silver sugar bowl from the Famous Potter Hotel that had burned down in Santa Barbara in the early 1900's..many famous personality's stayed at the hotel so quit possibly they had used the sugar bowl..it came from their dining room..We almost kept it but decided the money would be better than a piece we would just have to put up for safe keeping..we found a spoon for it on eBay and a post card picture that was taken in the dining room..we sold that whole collection around $300..in all we made over $2000 off the $5 box of dust collectors..that was one time.. ...
