What's done is done. North did what has doomed them all year: turn over the ball and commit bone-head penalties. Penalties that, in this game lead to the ejection of two of North's key players. Northrup was a bigger loss tonight. The Stars could have used him on defense. More than anything, tonight highlights how significant strength of schedule is. Teams north of the Kern County line simply play a tougher schedule. I think if the 'strength of schedule' arguers could make a legitimate statement, this year's playoffs should provide strong evidence. The Bakersfield teams in DI and DII are all gone. There are still Foothill in DIII, and Tehachapi (DIII or IV?), and of course BCHS. Logic would dictate that a 4 versus 5 seed should be a good game; not a game were a 5 seed beats the 4 seed by three touchdowns. Last weeks example: 8 versus 9. Competive? Nope.
