You're right Casooner.. so here goes:
1) My Grandfather (mom's father) was a minister for a small protestant denomination called the Moravians (technically pre-date Luther's 95 Thesies by about 100 years), and I believe much of his spiritual belief is reflected in my current ideology. My father was raised Roman Catholic (like any good Italian-American). Therefore, my parents made a compromise and joined the Episcopal church - where I was raised. I would say I still identify most with that denomination.
2) I consider any person who willingly lays down their life for another to be the most heroic - whether that be a soldier in battle, a police officer, a first responder - I could not do the jobs that they do, and I respect and support them for everything they sacrifice.
Edit - as an addition, I feel that most of my family are my personal heros, but I would make special note of my Aunt who is a breast cancer survivor, who then had a brain tumor...
