You forgot to mention that he was the captain of the England team, and has many caps for his country. As a fan of soccer, especially the European style, I always thought he was kind of over-rated. But he certainly has the ability to bring fans to the stadium, not to mention that long and very precise bending ball. There may have never been another player who was better at that particular skill. Anyway, I think its great for LA, the LA Galaxy, the MLS, US Soccer, and soccer fans in the US. If he performs well, it will be even better. By his age, he should still be in or near his prime, which makes it all the more amazing that he would come to the US now.
