Not Ready to Make Rice was not meant to be taken seriously.  It is just a silly parody.  The other songs are statements, but not so much political statements, they are statements about public statements made by big stars with big platforms.  I believe that when you are a big celebrity, you must go out of your way to express your opinion intelligently, respectfully and tactfully.  Many stars, including the Dixie Chicks have simply spouted off, without considering the manner, tone, and timing of their comments.  So everyone should be free to have an opinion on matters like the war, and to express it.  But I think we all need to be careful not to be divisive, disrespectful and careless with our comments, especially those who have a worldwide audience that is made up of individuals, and groups of individuals, who are  deeply impacted by every word.
