Born and raised in Bakersfield, CA.  I've lived in Santa Maria and the SF Bay Area for the last 15 or so years and just moved back home.  I'm a facilities/construction manager by trade and a linguist by training.  Just starting my own business here in B-town and picking up handyman work in the process.  I love politics and wear the label "liberal" proudly. I run the "New Users Click Here" blog every Sunday night and also post as Makes Things Go every, well, whenever I get around to it.
