About Dianna661

I was born and raised in Bakersfield.  I can remember when there was not much on the other side of the 99.  My father could not understand, "why they would build Stockdale Six Theaters out in the middle of an alfalfa field"?    Yep.  I'm 44. Horrible to put that into writing, but I am. I am long divorced with three grown children. Two in college and one making more money than me on an off shore drilling rig.  My  children have also blessed me with two wonderful grandchildren ages 1 and 8 yrs.   I live out in the country on one and a half acres.  I have three horses: 1 QH, 1 paint, and 1 TB stallion.  My paint is in foal by the TB.(long story). I enjoy riding horses,  watching my grandaughter take lessons,  talk about horse pedigrees, tell lies about horses and other forms of tall tells.   I like to work on my house, spend time with my friends/ family and horses, travel and just hang out and have a good time.

Hi, Dianna....yeah, I was born and raised in B-Town too. I can remember all that. To this day, I have a terrible aversion to any sort of development that eats up farmland or open country. Malls and shopping centers.....ticky tacky boxes called subdivisions....ugh. My uncle lives still on Akers Rd., and I can recall, in 1981, there were still COTTON FIELDS across the street from his house. In fact, I THINK the Crest Drive In was still showing movies. No cotten, no Crest. Just hideous apartments. Ugh. I too like horses, have two and a half (a mustang, a Quarter Horse, and a pony-- two and a half.) Married, three kids, went to BHS (class of '82, myself), but now live in Illinois. The best move we ever made was leaving California. There are very few things I miss out there, and people here are SO much nicer and saner....but my sister in B-Town keeps me posted, and of course, we read the Californian online, and the Tehachapi News-- we lived there the last ten years in Cali. I also enjoy going on and on about horses. My biggest lie, however, is to live on two acres and convince myself that fifteen chickens, a garden and three equines constitutes a farm. I continue to allow these delusions anyway. Where did you go to h.s.? As I said, I went to BHS (please don't throw things at me), but I had to graduate from Thousand Oaks High, my family moved there my senior year. Well, portions of my family. Long story. Dysfunction, all that sort of thing. Feel free to drop me a note and tell me about your kids and your horses, and how things are in B-Town these days!
