In every issue of Bakersfield Life, our Dining Divas take a look at one of Bakersfield’s premier restaurants. “It seems like everybody knows somebody that you know,” she says. “That is why I find Bakersfield such a terrific home.” I was raised in Rapid City South Dakota. My mom was a good cook who grew up on a farm; a typical dinner when I was growing up consisted of meat, potatoes, a vegetable, rolls and of course dessert! So I love gravy and sauces. My mom cooked every meal at home; a treat for us was to eat at McDonald’s. So, we, unfortunately, eat many meals at home, much to my children’s chagrin! They would prefer that we eat out every meal at a fast food restaurant.
As a busy professional, my meals are not elaborate, but consist of simple foods that can be prepared in a crock pot or cooked in the oven. My culinary skills are limited by time and not by ability! Thankfully (?) my husband and children are not big fans of a multi-course meal.
