is immersed in the whole name changing biz that goes along with being married. I hope to blog about the experience. About Ray
Oklahoma farm boy who has lived in California for 35 years, mostly in Fresno but now in the Palm Springs area. I have family members in Bakersfield and I decided to register because Kern County has that "awkward" marriage issue that is a lot more fun than any I've seen around the state. Having lived in Fresno, I know what it's like to have one's home town made the butt of jokes. Having read so much here, I'd say Kern County's folks come up with stuff that's even funnier than anything Johnny Carson or Jay Leno ever said about Bakersfield. It take a sense of humor to live in such a place and I'm glad to see humor is alive and thriving in Kern County. I just became a married man on June 17, getting hitched to the guy who has loved and cared for me for 25 years. We got the hell out of Fresno when we had had enough of having our house shot at, our kid bullied, our home vandalized, our driveway spray painted and having police cars stop us for the horrible crime of emerging from a gay bar. I've been reading many of the comments here on the Californian web site and I'm delighted by the common sense and wit of the participants. I'm just here to join the fray and enjoy the commentary. My friends call me Ray.
