About glendaglove
My name is Glenda Love. I am the Director for Foster Family Network for Kern County. Foster Family Network is a private, non-profit foster family agency serving Kern County children. Our agency is part of a larger organization, ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc. headquartered out of Long Beach. FFN was founded in 1979 and has served thousands of children and families in California.
We contract with the Kern County Department of Human Services to recruit, train and certify foster parents who can offer a nurturing, supportive and structured environment for foster children, from birth to 18 years of age, and who are willing to work closely with a treatment-based agency.
The number one goal for foster parents is to keep children safe while child welfare services are provided so they can be reunited with their birth parents.
Services we provide include…
· Supportive counseling by master level social workers specifically trained in issues surrounding abuse, neglect and abandonment · Social work caseloads between 13-15 children · On-going foster parent training and support · 24/7/365 Crisis Support · Coordination of medical, dental, vision, psychological and educational referrals · Research and linkage to community services · Monthly stipends to assist you in covering the costs associated with caring for your foster child.
To learn more about how you can become a foster family, call (661) 633-1700 to reserve a seat in our Wednesday evening foster parent orientations from 6:00pm-7:30pm.
