About Lily
Hello there, everyone in Bakersfield and beyond! My name is Lily Mershon, and I created this blog in order to raise awareness and share my feelings about eating disorders in Kern County. It is glaringly obvious that our town suffers deeply from disordered eating, some people even having severe eating disorders like anorexia/bulimia nervosa, EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified), and binge-eating/compulsive over-eating disorder. It has been said from different sources that nearly 75-90% of women, when asked about their body image, are not satisfied and manifest some sort of disordered eating. So where does an eating disorder come from? What is it? How do you "fix" it? How can I help a friend if they're in denial? Why don't they just eat; do they really think they look good like that? Can guys get eating disorders? What does God and the Bible say about appearance, eating, and recovery? All good questions, and in time, I hope to write several articles on eating disorders, some based off of my own experiences. I'm nearly always available for questions, so ask away.
