I am a relocated sociochemist living in east Bakersfield with my husband, two dogs (one of which is an 18 year old miniature pomeranian), and Terri Spidrey the Tarantula. Three of my four grown children now live here as well, with one working in the oil industry (why we relocated from the East Coast) and two working for Weatherbys Furniture Guild. I have degrees in chemistry and sociology, am almost done with my masters in criminal justice and will begin my doctoral program in public safety the beginning of 2009. Full time, I babysit my two of my four Bakersfield granddaughters along with occasional neighborhood children. Seasonally I am a tax specialist with H & R Block.  I am a member of the American Chemical Society, American Sociological Association, American Society of Criminologists, Genetics Society of America, Phi Kappa Phi, and a local square dance club. In my free time (ROFL) I conduct research into how a male rapist chooses his female victims; am involved with Wikipedia developing pages; moderate a group on Bebo; spend copious amounts of time on FaceBook; participate in the Obama for President campaign; am raising funds for the Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial in Washington, D.C. since there is no person of color represented in our Nations Capital; attend Temple Beth El and Our Lady of Perpetual Help; recently adopted a wild mustang from the bureau of land management and have our new Henna at a stable in Oildale; fly frequently to Topeka, Kansas to visit my two grandchildren living there; attend the local horse shows and the ones in LA; and am an avid fantasy/science fiction reader. I have the most exquisite fuscia gerber daisy thriving in my garden right now and my tomatoes are finally coming on. My husband, Brian, my son, J.D., & I are also in the development stages of Kern River Premiere Equestrian Center here in Bakersfield. I bought a piano about a year ago intending to learn how to play but have yet to embark on that adventure.
