IS running for BCSD School Board
About mcdougle
I was born and raised in Bakersfield. After teaching for 33 years and serving as a vice principal for two, I retired in 2001. I vowed that I would use my time and efforts to give back to the community. I want to be remembered as someone who worked hard to improve schools for parents, teachers, and children. I'll run for school board until I'm elected.

dear bill, great column in today's local paper. once again, your experience speaks louder than 1000 "opinions."

dear bill,
thank you for your compassionate and experience-based comments. i knew there'd be bitter and teacher-bashing ones, too. that was one of the points - that "the way things are" is draining the life out of educators, and too many are barely hanging on. who's affected? the kids. I WROTE THAT. however, it sounds like someone needed to vent on disappointing experiences with educators at a particular site.
on another note, i was depressed to learn that you won't be on the school board. however, maybe it's better that a person of your character should not have to endure a sorry excuse for an "election," when they fully knew who they were going to pick from the first second. and, indeed, i heard they "voted" in a new one monday night.
the cabal continues.
