She's been a journalist all her adult life, employed at The Californian since 1990.

As a reporter she covered a broad range of topics — from oil to water, from city, county and state government to social services, even the aerospace industry.

Her experience in covering these and other areas has helped her form passionate opinions, which her editors are pleased to share through this column.
