Hey thanks for adding me! Check out my blog when you have a minute to read about the changes taking place within the traditional "BakersfieldSound" community right here at home! And stop in at Trout's to see just how much THEY have changed!

Susan -- Thanks for your response to my April 19 story on the 144th anniversary of the Keyesville Massacre. I've lived in Kern County all my life, yet had never known about the massacre, so I felt it was an opportune time to research it and share what I found with readers. Thanks again!

Steven Thanks for the article on the April 19th Indian Massacre at Lake Isabella! My Great Grandparents were from the Yakima tribe in Eastern Washington and there is very little written history about them. My Grandmother actually hid her ancestry out of shame, which made it difficult to do any research until after she passed away. In her belongings my Mother & I found pictures, jewelry and momentos which she had hidden away her entire life. One of the most awesome is a picture of her and her Mother when she (Grandma) was around 14. The facial structure, gray eyes and long black hair, not to mention clothing gave their heritage away. We need more of this kind of history!
