An Evening With God

An evening with God dismisses all negative thoughts.

His Truth is everlasting the Bible keeps His spirit lasting.

He's the author and finisher of our daily walk.

He can change our language and teach us how to talk.

He won't force Himself on us, His spirit will guide us through.

He says all things work together for our good.

Worrying and cursing is truly no good.

He'll help us with our obstacles if we let Him in .

He reigns day and night and keeps us all in His sight.

An evening with God is fundamentally sound.

He keeps us grounded so our love will abound.

An evening with God is the best recipe.

Try God today and our soul will be pleased.

When our days are over, He'll welcome us with ease.

True Love

True love comes from God above, anything else is polished and rubbed.

We say I do, and the first little spat, turns out to be where some parents want us at.

Not knowing the true essence of God's plan, turning young men into real men.

The wife confused as to what to do, not knowing she is responsible to.

They go to professionals for advice, not seeking God for the ultimate advice.

The scripture says cling to each other, not your parent, sister and brother.

True love will make a argument seem like a conversation.

Just listening to each other can be a form of relaxation.

When you start to yell, just think for a moment.

This is not God's plan so we must not dwell on it.

Trials and tribulation will always be there.

It's where the heart is that will allow us to care.

Sickness is coming don't be surprised.

Conquer it with God, love and your spouse..

The next time you think about ending your marriage.

Think about God his love is the only leverage.

Love is the answer no matter what you are going through.

Adultery, fornication God will see you through.

What about forgiveness does it fit with true love.

It's number one on the list, if you truly want to go above.

Destiny

Destiny is a place of arrival, sometime we go in spite of.

All the conceptual mind games, keeps our awareness very keen.

We don't take it for granted, for we know we are not planted.

In a bliss of opportunistic mess, sometimes it allows us to confess.

To what is real, to what is distress, it can be a complicated journey.

If taken seriously, if taken consequently.

Watch and beware of the way you go.

Destiny can be an immeasureable foe.

Don't hurry to that place of uncertainty.

Your destiny may be carved with your integrity.

Destiny is something we can't escape.

It may be the pearly gates, it may be the devil's fate.

Don't be disgruntled if you feel confused.

Sometimes the wrong way can be defused.

Let destiny ride and do not hide.

Consequently one day we will take it in stride.

Knowing at the end it was just another ride.

Cancer Is Not

This month is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this is a celebration for all of the individuals who survived Breast Cancer. It can be quite traumatic to hear you have Breast Cancer, but it can also be a awakening to appreciate life.I urge all survivors of cancers to live life to its fullest and along the way be a blessing to someone else. I wanted to write a poetic tribute to all cancer survivors because I survived it twice (1988,1998). I thank God daily for his love, compassion and grace. If you are a cancer survivor I urge you to thank God and be a doer of His Word. I wrote this poem to encourage individuals who have cancer and going through various treatments. The poem is as follows:

It is not a death sentence today. Many years ago that could not be said.

People can live and strive today. Sit back and rejoice when you get to stay.

With all the treatments of today. I'll name a few and call their names.

Radiation may cause some tribulation. Radiation may cause some regurgitation.

Don't be dismayed they have an association. It won't last long it's a form of

initiation. I am proof of that realization.

Chemotherapy has side effects. Some horrendous and some a mess.

You may lose your hair and be bare. Sometimes you are weak and body may

squeak. All those symptoms you can shake. Through all of this God keeps you

awake. Be dedicated to these treatments. Try to form no resentment.

If you have cancer, don't think about dying. Take your treatments and keep on

trying. God have greatness for you my friends. Live life fully and never pretend.

Remember, oh remember, cancer is not the END.

SUNSET

The sunset is a beautiful silhouette, created by time for us to manifest.

It surpasses human comprehension,Don't be dismayed it creates no tension.

Beautiful as it looks it creates a vision, created by God to show no division.

Look at the colors deep and dark, red and brown creates a spark all around town.

Some look at it confused and elated, it is God's sunset wrapped and embedded.

Man can create alot of things, A sunset is not one of his beings.

Just sit and look at the manifestation, especially when you feel a form of frustration.

The picture alone creates a positive equation, of hope and love part of God's creation.

Sunset, sunset set your mind to view, an everlasting picture for all of us to view.

Review: R. Kelly's "Double Up"

I was curious about the R. Kelly latest CD because I knew he was in trouble so I assumed he would change the content of the lyrics of his songs. I was dead wrong.

The latest CD "Double Up" is outrageous. Musically his CD is fantastic but the lyrics are somewhat disgusting. I will mention a few songs and the suggestion for these young people minds to adventure in (wow).

The CD is very sexual in its connotation. One of the songs "Double Up", he is suggestion that you double up. Another song is "Same Girl", partners doing the same girl. The song that is the biggest hit on his CD is "I'm A Flirt", he's basically telling his partners don't trust me with your girl, wife, sister or any female.

I chose this CD to review because I believe a lot of young people listen to this music and replace reality with fantasy. The three songs I mentioned have some form of negative connotation toward women. These songs are more than entertainment, I believe some young people take these songs to a different level and believe this is what you are suppose to do.

This may be not believable but think of this. The shooting in the plaza was over a female. Was this young man flirting with the shooters girlfriend, did he want to double up or were they messing with the same girl. These are just suppositions but in reality could this be true? We need to listen to what these young people are listening to, some of these lyrics are "outrageous" and very "suggestive".

Not That Bad

The world is in so much pain.

Most of us continually complain.

The totality of our gripe is plain.

We should sometime sustain.

Look back, it's not that bad.

Some people go to bed in pain.

Some people wake up in pain.

We must learn not to complain.

Be courageous and not so vain.

Be gracious with the time given to us.

Help someone else, that's a must.

Remember, things are not that bad.

Stocks going up.

Realty going down.

That keeps our face with a negative frown.

The focus of life is to always hope.

All material things are just a ghost.

The one who endures is the best philosophy.

Remember, It's not that bad.

Be joyful and thankful not so sad.

Think of good and bury the bad.

Always remember, its not that bad.

Worry, worry is so contrary.

It gets us know where but a life so dreary,

Talk about this, talk about that.

It makes no sense, its not that bad.

It's a nod for us to try to be glad.

Pray for the underdog and don't be mad.
