WHAT: mile 124. Basically, a kick back coffee house night with alot of amazing people. The purpose of the night is to be a "catalyst for expression and reflection pointing to God!"

I am going UP and I have a lot of greattt stuff to tell!

This Mile 124 is ran excellantly & mostly by Teenagers! [me tooo] WOOT! There are art tables! Coffee! and goodiess :)
There will be a band called the Boasting Weak :) and a local artist Tim Kirkindoll who will be set up ready to paint whatever God gives him!

Art supplies, baked goods, coffee and drinks are all available at no cost.

MOTHER NATURE'S CANVAS - A group art show featuring artists of mediums from Bakersfield, Kern County & the Central Valley. The theme for the display is Nature Themed and Inspired Art. Sierra Art Trails welcomes visitors to its sixth annual open studios tour.

Artists and artisans will open their studios or show their work at various locations around Eastern Mariposa and Madera counties for this two day event on October 11 & 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Enjoy a weekend taking in the fresh air and pristine beauty of the Southern Yosemite Foothills while meeting the area's many artists and seeing some at work in their studios. The Maturango Museum's Open Studio Tour

it is the fifth year of The Maturango Museum’s Open Studio Tour. This is an event that has grown in popularity and attendance and we are proud of it and the artists involved in it. The Tour is a shared experience between the artists, their studio environments and the public. The opportunities for viewing and purchasing local Art created by local artists, sharing ideas and having discussions are magnified by the number of artists who are participating. We are excited to have eight new artists joining fourteen returning artists and the Cerro Coso Art Dept.

The Tour will kick off with the Artists Reception celebrating the opening of the Artists Show at the Sylvia Winslow Gallery at the Maturango Museum on October 10 at 7 p.m. The show will be up for a month and all of the artwork in the show will be for sale to the public. The Tour itself will be on the weekend of October 25 & 26. The Studios will be open both days from 10a.m. – 5p.m. The $15 tickets and Tour Maps will be available at the Museum during the month of October and on both days of the Tour. This event is in support of local artists and is a fundraiser for the Museum with a percentage of all sales going to the Museum.

Mile 124 is a catalyst for expression & reflection pointing to God.The theme of the event is photography: "Beauty in the eye of the lenseholder." This event will look a lot like a usual Mile 124 (music, art, community), but with special photography-themed activities and featured photographers Paul Pomeroy & Solorzano Photography, too!

There is a great variety of coffee, creamers and treats at our coffee bar. People can sit deep in thought listening to music, meet some new people or express themselves with some art! Our art this time around will have a photography-theme. Oh yeah & this night is great for parents. They can come enjoy the night while their children are being cared for just feet away. FREE CHILDCARE!

P.S.We are offering up a few really cool opportunities for people to get involved. We are collecting photos. The whole first hour will be dedicated to displaying the photography of everyday people (non-pros) via slideshow. Each person can submit up 10 photos that are special, beautiful, noteworthy to them. Not only are these photos going to be used for the slideshow showcase, but some will be used for the many opportunities for creative expression including our Creative Photo Captioning contest, 1,000 Words exercise & as display around the room.
