CBVI Annual Pancake Breakfast

CBVI Announces Annual Pancake Breakfast.

Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired announces its annual pancake breakfast Saturday, December 5, 2009, from 8am to Noon at the center, 1124 Baker Street.

This event is an opportunity for the public to enjoy a great pancake breakfast complete with scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee and juice, and to take advantage of some great bargains at the center’s craft fair and bake sale. Available for purchase will be a variety of baskets, decorative garden stones, ceramics, and other items handcrafted by the clients and volunteers at CBVI. Raffle prizes will also be awarded throughout the morning.

All proceeds go toward the general expenses of CBVI, which relies heavily upon the generosity of donors and supporters throughout the community.

Toy Drive / No cost Car Show

The Outlaws Car Club is holding their 3rd annual Toy Drive. It will be at the Farmer Boys Restaurant on Hailey St and Columbus starting at 9am ending at 5pm. The car show is free for drivers and spectators. We do ask that you participate in the toy drive but that is not mandatory. All toys and funds raised at the event go to the KMC pediatric unit, so we ask that they are toys that can be played with in their hospital rooms. We will accept all toys but the kids seem to like coloring books, books in general, the handheld electronic games, dolls, toy cars, stuffed animals, and basic games. All the toys go home with the kids they are given to. If you like kids come bring some toys, if you like cars come look at the cars and bring some toys.

Project Linus Meeting

Our mission is to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfrot to children who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need through the gifts of new, handmade blankets and afghans, lovingly created by volunteer "blanketeers". It is also is an opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities to come together for the benefit of children.
