Gaslight Melodrama to host fundraiser for Bakersfield Swill Club

The Gaslight Melodrama will be hosting a fund raising show for the Bakersfield Swim Club on Thursday, Oct 8th for the Premier of The Skylight Zone followed by Auntie Teenie Weenies Oildale Halloween Hoedown. All ticket sales will go toward the Bakersfield Swim Club, Bakersfield's oldest swim club since 1972. From infants to Olympians, the Bakersfield Swim Club is a non profit swim team, affiliated with USA Swimming and Central Californian Swimming. Kieth Moore is the head coach and has coached a number of Olympic swimmers including Gabe Woodward, winner of the silver and bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil.
Proceeds from this event will go toward pool rentals, uniforms and the hosting of the 2010 Jr. Olympics in Bakersfield in February 2010. The Jr. Olympics draw qualifying athletes, in all age groups from all over Central California.
