(Bakersfield, CA) -- Kaiser Permanente Kern County announces its local community grants program Request for Proposals. Kaiser Permanente continues to strengthen the communities in which we work and live, by assisting nonprofit organizations and community groups with grant funding opportunities. Just in the past two years, Kaiser Permanente has been able to assist, 23 nonprofit organizations with over $383,000.
When funding, Kaiser Permanente looks at community programs that are assisting the community in areas relating to HIV/AIDS, Management of Chronic Conditions in Adults, Improving the Health of Children and Infants and Improve Access to Health Insurance or Availability to Healthcare.
In 1945, Henry Kaiser and Dr. Sydney Garfield formed a partnership to provide comprehensive health care to workers, families and the general public. This marked the beginning of Kaiser Permanente and the start of a whole new way to deliver health care. It also marked the beginning of Kaiser Permanente as a nonprofit institution in the community.
Since then, Kaiser Permanente has been listening and working with local agencies, nonprofit organizations and community groups to identify areas that promote health and strengthen community networks.
Proposals will be due February 26th at noon. For Application, Guidelines & Grant Workshop Details please contact: Kristin Weirather, Senior Community Benefit Specialist at or 661- 334-2033.
